News Director Sarah Colvin

Sarah ColvinThe radio bug first bit Sarah Colvin in the late 90s while she was a student at Cape Cod Community College. She became the station’s news director and eventually took over the helm as program director. Sarah first joined Cape Cod Broadcasting in 2005 as a weekend part-timer, soon moving to a full-time position writing and reporting news for both WQRC and WOCN. After a short stint in Boston, the beauty of the Cape and the opportunity to become News Director of a station she grew up listening to lured her back.

"The radio bug first bit me in the late 90s while I was a student at Cape Cod Community College. I became the station’s news director almost right away, and eventually took over the helm as program director. I first joined Cape Cod Broadcasting in 2005 as a weekend part timer. I grew up listening to WQRC, and felt honored to join a group of voices and personalities I admired. After a few months of weekends, I was pleased to take a full time position writing, reporting and reading the news. I loved writing stories about the place I love. Cape Cod is such a unique place in that it has a deep-rooted sense of community and a dedication to its lifestyle, economy and ecology, which makes reporting the news a pleasure. I moved to Boston in the fall of 2007 to seek a different lifestyle, but the beauty of the Cape and the opportunity to become News Director of a station I love lured me back. I’m looking forward to rejoining the ranks and getting back into the community that I know and love."

Welcome to Cape Cod’s Own Cape Country 104

Cape Cod Broadcasting launches Cape Country 104 - Today’s Best Country and the Legends, Cape Cod’s only local country radio station and latest addition to their radio and website family.  Cape Country 104 features a contemporary mix of the Hottest Country Songs by Today’s Biggest Country Superstars and the most familiar Country Smash Hits from the last several years and is seasoned with the biggest Country Crossover favorites from the legends of country music.

“Prior to Cape Country 104, Cape Cod’s country music listeners had to listen to a Providence radio station with Providence news, weather, traffic reports, entertainment, advertisers and a weaker signal.  Understanding Cape Cod’s unique lifestyles and radio’s strengths to be personal and local, Cape Country 104 was the natural choice for WKPE 103.9,” explains Gregory D. Bone, General Partner of Cape Cod Broadcasting.  “Now with Cape Country 104, Cape Codders have their own hometown country music station, with local news, weather, community updates and advertising.  Country music listeners value family, community, nature and country,” Bone adds, “and they are loyal listeners, passionate about their music.”

Locally owned and operated, Cape Cod Broadcasting features four exclusive radio formats and CapeCod.Com, the portal to all Cape Cod.  WQRC 99.9 Cape Cod’s Fresh Mix, Ocean 104.7, Cape Country 104 and WFCC Classical 107.5 weave their unique listening environments to reflect the lifestyles of the people who choose to live, work, move, retire, visit and own second homes on Cape Cod.
